Due to the actions of the Lords of Ten Towns, the history of the Sword Coast has unfolded very differently. The Netherese Empire has thrived instead of fallen and now occupies most of the Sword Coast and the Icewind Dale region.

All would be lost if not for Silas and Shabadoo being in the Green Realm, which exists outside of time. Upon emerging from the Green Realm they set out to find out what went wrong and how to fix it.

They ultimately find themselves in the stone giant library of Gravenhollow where they learn of the actions of the Lords of Ten Towns. They also learn that there are 6 adventurers that can help set things right. The stone giant archives on the future are murky as to how and why. Even the stone giant archivists don’t understand why the future is shrouded in so much mystery.

What no one knows yet is that the six adventures have defeated the Netherese Empire countless times between the current year (5326) and 5366. The Netherese, however, anticipated this probability many years ago and developed a time travel mechanism.

Through this mechanism they are able to identify key actors in the empires downfall. Once identified, an elite group within The Directorate, known as Temporal Mechanics, travels back in time to influence key events to prevent the empires downfall.

The Temporal Mechanics have identified a troubling fact - the same six people always play a role in the defeat of the empire. Not always in the same way, but always with the same end result.

The party will need to uncover the truth, free the original time goddess Mystryl from her prison and set the timeline right.
